Supplies a range of composite materials manufactured in both the UK and USA, also a complete design and manufacturing capability for composite component parts at its Heanor, Derbyshire facility. Concentrates in sectors of the market where new applications for advanced composites arise continually, often replacing metals. This includes aerospace, space and communications, motor racing, sports, leisure, defence and general industrial uses. High levels of R&D. Winner of numerous UK, USA government and EEC research grants. During the period of DFI's investment, employment rose from 124 to 200, turnover from £4.6million to £22 million and a USA manufacturing facility was established. The DFI investment was, with management assistance, successfully sold to larger venture capital funds that will help take the business to its next stage of development
